Jason Baruch taught his “Who Gets What?” course about royalty pools at the Commercial Theater Institute.

Jason Aylesworth organized and moderated a program called “Game Not Over: Protection of Free Speech in the Video Game Industry” presented at the EASL’s Fall CLE Program in New York City. Panelists included Gena A. Feist, Esq. (Vice President & Associate General Counsel for Take Two Interactive) and John F. Wirenius, Esq. (Author, First Amendment, First Principles: Verbal Acts and Freedom of Speech, and Deputy General Counsel to the Office of Collective Bargaining).

Few if any sponsorships are more lucrative in professional sports than beer sponsorships. The National Hockey League (NHL or League) – long sponsored by Anheuser-Busch-owned Labatt in Canada – recently found itself embroiled in litigation brought by Labatt alleging that the League breached its Canadian beer deal when it entered into a U.S./Canada beer sponsorship with Labatt’s archrival, Miller Coors (Molson Coors in Canada).

Jason Aylesworth spoke at New York Foundation for the Arts at the “Artist As Entrepreneur Boot Camp” on the topic of Contract Drafting and Negotiation Skills.

Jason Baruch and Carter Anne McGowan, along with fellow entertainment lawyer Mark Merriman, taught a survey course on “What You Need To Know About Theater Law.” The course, which addressed the legal aspects of theater producing, was part of the EASL day-long program entitled “Putting It Together: An Introduction to Entertainment Law Practice.”
